All of these National Park Service Units are located in the same general area and we thought it would be a great idea to take the ferry from Port Imperial to Midtown and explore on foot. We checked the ferry schedule the night before and everything looked good. When we arrived at the ferry terminal in the morning, it was closed! We drove to all of these sites and since most of them were closed, we grabbed photos where possible. We did take a nice guided walking tour of the Lower East Side and got the history of the area. Our guide was very informed and did an excellent job explaining tenements, immigrants, and rebuilding.
